Great Wall, Jade Factory and Acrobatics Show

We were able to sleep most of the night and were up early, on our own, before the alarm went off.  We had breakfast at the hotel buffet again and then headed out with out group , another family joined us, so I think we are up to 8 families.  We left the hotel at 8:30.  We drove by bus to the Great Wall, the weather was a bit windy and cooler than typical, but comfortable and clear skies, which made for great pictures.  We were feeling like our stomachs had calmed down from last night and we were ready for the adventure.  I stopped the climb after tower 2, began to feel sick again but enjoyed the view and came back down.  Drew made it all the way to the tallest tower in this area at tower #13.  WAY TO GO!!!!! We were at The Wall from about 9:30 am to 11:30 am.  It was amazing!

We left The Great Wall and headed to a Jade factory which is also where we had lunch.  We learned about Jade, how it represents good health and fortune as well as protection.  We walked around the store looking at the intricate detail of their work and watched some carving.

We had another great lunch which was family style.  They served us about 15 different dishes as there were 10 of us around each table.

As we drove back to the hotel, we passed Olympic City.  Drew has some pictures on the camera, but I didn't get very good ones on my phone, so we'll have to update those later. We came back to the hotel and shortly after, we were able to connect with Nick Strong, a friend from the US who is living/working here at an International School.  So, cool to see him and catch up and hear about his new position.

We left the hotel as a group around 4:30 to go to The Acrobatic Show.  It was a lot of fun and very entertaining.

As evening came, our stomachs were upset again and we did not go out to eat, we headed to the room to get organized for tomorrow.  We head out at 6:30 am for the airport to fly to Zhengzhou.
